The mitzvah of study and the mitzvah of rejoicing in the gift of the Torah:

The mitzvah of attending services on Simchat Torah and hearing the Torah completed and begun again.

The mitzvah of participating in the HAKAFOT (sevenfold procession with the Torah scrolls on Simchat Torah). Dance and sing -- escort the Torah outsides part of the HAKAFOT.

Study KOHELLET (Ecclesiastes) on the intermediate Shabbat of Sukkot.

Study all night -- or as long as desired -- on HOSHANAH RABBAH. Review selected portions of the Bible, MISHNAH, and the entire range of Jewish sacred literature, or make your own selection of Jewish texts.

The mitzvah of getting an ALIYAH on Simchat Torah. Be worthy of being asked to be CHATAN (or KALLAT) TORAH (the one who completes the Torah) or B'REISHIT (the one who begins the Torah).

The mitzvah of bringing children under thirteen to participate in the celebration of Simchat Torah. Let them join in the HAKAFOT, give them candy and gifts, encourage them to join in the last regular ALIYAH for the Torah and bless them with Jacob's blessing.

Prolong the rejoicing by inviting guests to join you in feasting and celebrating on Simchat Torah day.

The mitzvah of attending services on Sukkot and hearing the Torah read.

The mitzvah of attending services on Shemini Atzeret and hearing the Torah read.
